Labor Day
In keeping with the theme of not working today here are a few old pieces that I still love. Photo manipulations done in Photoshop. A mix of stock art and my own photographs.
This has always been one of my favorites. It turned out exactly as I intended.

The Tension and The Spark
In 2004 Darren Hayes released The Tension and The Spark. I didn't hear about it until almost a year after its release but it changed my life. It's gorgeous, heartbreaking work of art that everyone should hear. It's also available on iTunes worldwide and play.com.
While going through old files today I found some images I created based on that album. The photos of Darren are not mine and I claim no copyright. Sadly, a few files proved beyond repair.

Everything Old is New Again
I don't necessarily dislike the original image with its primary colours. The new version with a new 'quieter' colour scheme and a little extra effort gives it some depth & interest it didn't have before.Yeah, the Dr. Seuss angles on the new version are a bit trendy but it's a trend worth using.

The 45 Minute Project
So my co-worker & I were talking AGAIN about the stuff we like to do but can't find the time to do. We vowed to devote a minimum of 45 minutes an evening doing what we claim we love. A week of 45 minute+ sessions later... here's my end result.

In the Beginner's Mind...
... There are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind there are few. Shunryu Suziki
The little seascape below is so technically incorrect in terms of how things are supposed to be done in Illustrator. But the end result is quite nice.
